Richard D. Van Dyke began his career, after being discharged from the US Army, with Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse/Coopers), where he performed and ran audits for both not-for-profit and for-profit firms as an audit supervisor.
Van Dyke served as Vice President/Finance for Industrial Bolt & Nut Co. of Newark, NJ (a division of HMW industries) for eight years with areas of responsibility including accounting, bank lending arrangements, acquisitions and divestitures. He also was Senior Vice President/Finance for two years.
Controller of Gabelli-Rosenthal and Partners L.P. of New York, he oversaw a leveraged buyout partnership under the direction of money manager Mario Gabelli. His responsibilities included all financial functions, reports to partners, annual audits and tax returns and analysis and review of companies.
Van Dyke served as Vice President/Controller of The Shawnee Group for four years, where he was responsible for all accounting functions, including annual audits and reports to 14 homeowners' association boards of directors. He developed new reporting systems for the associations, keeping guest services in high levels.
As one of the founders of Gold Crown Management, Van Dyke has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 1992. He oversees all homeowner association annual budgeting, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, board meetings reporting and presentation, reserve funds investment, insurance and special projects analysis.
Van Dyke has a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in accounting from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Hotel Administrator and a Certified Manager of Community Associations. He is a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he serves as treasurer.
