Horry County Memorial Library Receives Reference Library From The Foundation
For Community Association Research
Alexandria,. July 2007 - The Foundation for Community Association Research
has awarded a collection of reference publications on managing condominium,
cooperative and homeowner associations to the Horry County Memorial Library
located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina through its Adopt-a-Library program.
The collection, valued at more than $1500, was made possible by a donation
from Gold Crown Management Inc. and the Foundation for Community
Association Research.
"CAI's Adopt-a-Library program provides much-needed information on every
aspect of a community association's role as a business, a government and a
community," said David Jennings, executive of the Foundation for Community
Association Research. "From combating homeowner apathy to filling tax
returns, these publications offer Myrtle Beach residents the answer to any
question on how to protect and enhance the community association lifestyle."
The Adopt-a-Library gift is comprised of a number of CAI publications as
well as a complete set of CAI's 27 Guides fort the Association Practitioner
offering nuts-and-bolts guidelines on:
managing budgets and reserve funds
the responsibilities of the board and the professional manager
legal and tax issues,
communication with association members and renters,
buying insurance and managing risk,
drafting rules,
dispute resolution, and
working with contractors
Any public library or community center located within a CAI chapter area
is eligible to receive an Adopt-a-Library grant. For more information,

Community Association Management Company Earns Top Industry Professional Designation
Myrtle Beach, SC - May 21, 2007 -Gold Crown Management, Inc., Myrtle Beach recently joined the elite group of community association management companies who have earned the Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) designation from Community Associations Institute (CAI). Gold Crown Management, Inc. is one of only 150 management companies nationwide who have earned the highest level of professional recognition in the community association field.
Gold Crown is now only one of three (AAMC) designated companies in the state. The two others are in Mt. Pleasant, making Gold Crown the only one in the Myrtle Beach area.
John K. Reyelt, CHA, RRP, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, President/CEO of Gold Crown Management, Inc., accepted the company certification at CAI's 56th Annual National Conference on April 26, 2007. Gold Crown Management, manages over 30 communities in the Myrtle Beach area and employees 85 employees. Gold Crown celebrated its 15th anniversary in March of 2007.

To earn the AAMC distinction, management companies need three years of experience in community association management and at least 50 percent of their managers must have earned professional designations.
Professional managers provide administrative, operational and managerial counsel to community association boards. They typically are responsible for managing budgets and contractors, directing association personnel and overseeing compliance with association covenants and restrictions.
CAI and its 55 state, regional and local chapters work on behalf of the professionals and volunteers engaged in the management and governance of homeowner and condominium associations, cooperative and other planned communities. CAI's 16,000 members include community association volunteer leaders, managers, management companies and businesses that provide products and services to these communities.
